turn

Check
windows for weather proofing.
Seeifheating
ducts are clean.
Check

Check
for heatloss around electric outlets.
If
lights don't need to be on full in the daytime, turn them off.
Re-use
paper as much as possible.Recycle used paper by shredding for classroom
products, or
make
notepads and drawing pads out of paper that is intended for the garbage.
Have
the students get fully involved in recycling by:bringing containers for their
lunches and drinks instead of paper bags and plastic bottles that will get
tossed.Start a craft-box for things around the classroom that could be used to
make things.
Conserve
water if you have a sink; teach the kids to turn it off when not being used.
Conserve
energy by opening windows for fresh air, instead of turning on air-conditioning
units.
Teach
composting, and start a small composting project in an aquarium perhaps with
paper, some food scraps etc. to show how items break down.

Obviously
recycle all bottles, cans, paper, plastic, etc.
Also,
at my school, whenever someone sharpens a pencil they put the pencil shavings
into this jar, and the school uses it as compost.
You
could tell everyone to take notes on a laptop or iPad.
At
my school the teachers have an option of creating quizzes online for the
students to take, so they can reduce paper.
If
you ever print something, make it double sided whenever possible.
Encourage
the students to carpool, bike, or walk to school.
Offer
to give them extra credit (if your the teacher..) if they thing of a new way to
conserve resources?
:)
waste
paper buckets should be dropped in a large container the label of which marked
prominently in block capitals FOR RECYCLING INDUSTRY RAW MATERIALS.
Teach
small children how to wash their hands properly because it can save their lives.
Soap and water not pumps that are much less effective at killing germs. Use less
toliet paper.
